"Tutoring Foundations"

The “Tutoring Foundations” course topics cover the skills and philosophical understanding required to tutor students of any academic level in a variety of situations and includes:
- A unique “mastery” study technology that dramatically accelerates learning and locks information into long-term memory
- Individual, on-going review and feedback from National Tutoring Association Advanced and Master Tutors
- A final oral review and interview conducted by phone (exception for non-USA/Canada students)
The Learning Center Edition, available through affiliates only, is available in three sequential modules and includes a streamlined certification process.
Course Requirements
- Basic computer skills
- A personal computer with internet access at a minimum 56K dial-up
- Approximately 45 - 60 hours of self-paced study
- $349 fee, payable in advance, major credit cards accepted.
In addition to the enhanced value of your skills, course completion satisfies the academic requirements* for:
- Level-1 Advanced Tutor Certification from the National Tutoring Association.
Specially priced $99 professional application package includes:
- Processing fee to review academic and personal references
- Criminal background check
- One year NTA membership (may extend existing membership)
- Peer and paraprofessional tutor certification - $5 and up
- Six CEUs granted by Fielding Graduate University, Santa Barbara, CA ($60 fee)
*Additional fees and application made directly to the NTA (certification application/membership application) and Fielding Graduate University (CEU application).
